About Exploring Maine

My attachment to the state is that of a barnacle to a ledge, the pull of the moon to the earth. Maine, because of its singular and profound beauty, is a place of worship without walls. I love it so. –May Davidson

There are over 35,000 square miles of land in Maine, and over 4,500 square miles of water. We have a national park – Acadia – and over 30 state parks you can explore. There are fields and forests, back roads and highways, and more places to boat, bike, hike, ski, sled, and swim than there is time to take them all in.

At ExploringMaine.com, our goal is to promote this amazing state, and encourage others to come to love everything it has to offer like we do. We think our state is amazing, unique, and worth exploring. So we offer articles and information ideas to help others along their way.
