A Freeport disc golf course
First invented in Saskatchewan, Canada, in 1927 by a teacher and his students throwing tin can lids at 4’ circles drawn in the sand, disc golf has certainly come a long way since then.

While disc golf involves throwing plastic discs toward raised baskets instead of hitting small, dimpled balls with metal clubs into tiny holes in the ground, the game is nevertheless similar to golf in other ways, using the same terminology and play tactics.

Freeport, Maine has a small disc golf course in town and a fair few to choose from in neighboring communities, all within a 30-minute drive and featuring varying levels of amenities.
