Kennebunkport Coastline
If you’ve ever been to Kennebunkport, then you are aware of what awaits visitors to this seaside resort town: well-heeled tourists strolling along, enjoying the many restaurants, shops, and galleries that are bellied up to the uneven brick sidewalks like sailors at a bar.

There are also many choices when it comes to lodging in Kennebunkport—but most are of the high-end variety. If you’d rather save your funds for a lobster roll or two, why not consider camping instead?

There are many affordable, clean campgrounds within a half-hour’s drive of Dock Square (as noted for each listing below), many of which may tempt you to stay put and enjoy the amenities without needing to change out of your flip-flops.

With couples-size and family-size luxury safari tents—featuring amenities like electricity, AC/heat, posh linens, and mini-fridges—you’ll feel like you’re in an eclectic hotel rather than a tent in the woods.

There are also one-of-a-kind “unique retreat” options for couples, like Conestoga wagons, Airstream trailers, and the Glass House—all overlooking the beautiful salt marsh. And of course, there are plenty of RV, camper, and tent sites available; there is also a camp store, snack bar, kids’ activities, playground, and a heated pool, and you can rent bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards.
