Lake Parlin Lodge is absolutely stunning in the Fall
There is a long list of reasons why getting married in Maine is a great idea. Not only is the weather mild during the summer months, but the views and fantastic, and the overall cost of hosting a wedding in Maine is so much less expensive than in other states.

This, of course, is leaving out the fact that Maine is amazing for rustic weddings, which is my aesthetic of choice in almost any aspect of life (just ask my countless flannels and old L.L. Bean jacket).

All of that aside, however, choosing a wedding venue in Maine can be difficult. Not only do many websites narrow down your options to wedding spots in Southern Maine, but they also seem to pick and choose only indoor locations or offer unfair preference for beach weddings.

Of course, I’ve included beach wedding locations and coastal options in this list, but we’re talking about the best Maine wedding locations overall, so there are bound to be a few hidden gems in this list you’ve never heard of.

Yeah, you got me, I added another rustic farm wedding onto this list, but once you check out Cunningham Farm Events you’ll understand why.

The photos from past weddings are incredible, with a lovely arch for wedding photos and stunning woods nearby, you can have the cottagecore, rustic wedding of your dreams with all the comforts of a professional wedding venue.

The exterior of this barn sports the weathered shingles that are typical of Maine barns, but once you open the doors the refinished interior and gorgeous wooden chairs and tables are sure to take your breath away.

My personal favorite is the old swing on the property. Sure, there’s a ton you get with your rental, the details of which can be found on their website, but the old swing is such a playful spot for photography that it’s hard to resist the charm!
