Once a thriving port for lumber, textiles, bricks, and even ice, Bangor is now a lively commercial and retail hub, home to a host of event venues, an active arts scene, and a growing collection of eateries, breweries, and shops.
If you’re an outdoorsy type, Bangor is also home to a variety of parks and preserves. But if you’re looking to spend some time outside doing something more…competitive, perhaps consider a few rounds of golf.
There is a public course within city limits, and plenty of others to choose from within a 30-minute drive from downtown Bangor.
