A comfortable Camden hotel room.
At first glance, the coastal resort town of Camden presents as a seaside haven for the affluent—and there are certainly plenty of high-end dining, lodging, and shopping options lining the quaint streets to back up that assumption.

But there are a variety of amenities available for all budgets and preferences in Camden, including accommodations—and whether you prefer a quirky bed and breakfast, an affordable motel, or a boutique hotel, you’re certain to find something that suits your style—and wallet.

Map of the Best Camden Lodging

If you’re looking for Camden hotels close to all the action, this map will help you plan your next visit:

16 Bay View

The newest of the exclusive Bay View Collection properties, 16 Bay View is housed in a remodeled, reimagined century-old mill.

Situated just outside the heart of Camden’s upscale shopping district, this higher-end, boutique hotel offers a host of different luxury room options, each of which offers a gas fireplace, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a Keurig coffee machine, elegant décor, spa-like bathrooms and linens, and much more.

A full continental breakfast is included with your stay, and dog-friendly rooms are available as well.

You can also enjoy small plates and cocktails at The Vintage Room on the first floor, or up on the roof at The View.

Camden Harbour Inn

This luxurious, historic inn is part of the Relais & Chateaux collection and has been recognized as one of the World’s Best by both Conde Nast Traveler and Travel and Leisure Magazine.

Featuring shamelessly sumptuous suites, breathtaking views of the harbor, unmatched service, and world-class dining at Natalie’s (named as one of the top 100 restaurants in the country by Diner’s Choice), the Camden Harbour Inn is undoubtedly bucket list-worthy.

There is an on-site spa, turndown service (with pillow chocolates!), a complimentary glass of Prosecco upon arrival, and free coffee, tea, snacks, and pastries all day.

A gourmet, a la carte breakfast—with Champagne—is also included with your stay at this remarkable inn.

Whitehall

One of my personal favorites in Camden, Whitehall is a Lark property—which means colorful, mid-century-modern décor, plenty of comfortable and stylish common areas, fresh, homemade small-plate breakfasts, and more.

This historic building is where the movie “Peyton Place” was filmed, and it still retains much of its original architectural glory.

The 36 guest rooms are quirky and cute, with a variety of sleeping arrangements and styles.

Whitehall is just a 10-minute walk to the amenities of Camden, but you’ll feel a world away as you sit under the fairy lights by the fire pit at night with your glass of wine from the in-house bar.

Lord Camden Inn

Another of the Bay View Collection holdings, the Lord Camden Inn is located in the heart of Camden Village, close to pretty much everything.

This four-story, historic building houses 36 non-smoking guest rooms and suites—many of which are pet-friendly—where you’ll find a unique old-architecture-meets-new-décor aesthetic.

A continental, buffet-style breakfast is included, and there is also an on-site fitness room and art gallery.

Grand Harbor Inn

The third Bay View Collection property on this list, the Grand Harbor Inn is a fantastic option if you prefer waterfront lodging.

This small, AAA Four-Diamond inn is open all year, offering signature, top-notch service, upscale amenities, and a boutique lodging experience.

A sumptuous continental breakfast is delivered to your room each morning of your stay, and every room features a private balcony and gas fireplace.

The Inn is also pet-friendly; inquire about the “Pampered Pooch Accommodations.”

Camden Windward House

Camden is surely a town best discovered as a pedestrian—and this adorable bed and breakfast is ideally located to do so, especially if you’d planned to visit Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park (the Camden Windward House is located at the foot of the former).

All eight non-smoking guest rooms feature luxury bedding, en-suite bathrooms, and air conditioning; many offer gas fireplaces, soaking tubs, and mini-refrigerators.

You’ll receive a complimentary, made-to-order breakfast each morning of your stay, and local wine and beer are available to purchase.

The Norumbega

The “graciously distinguished” Norumbega Inn still features all of the breathtaking, original millwork installed by the original owner in 1886 and resembles a mini-castle.

Choose from 11 elegantly decorated guest rooms—including two fabulous suites—each offering its own unique set of architectural features and guest amenities.

A homemade, three-course breakfast is included, and you’ll also enjoy a complimentary treat and beverage upon arrival.

Camden Riverhouse Hotel & Inns

With a variety of property types to choose from depending on your needs, this centrally-located lodging compound offers something for everyone.

In town for business or a longer vacation? Try the year-round Extended Stay Inn, where all suites feature full kitchens, gas fireplaces, and extra space.

Or, for a hotel-style, dog-friendly option with amenities like an indoor heated pool, complimentary breakfast, and fire pit, opt for the Camden Riverhouse Hotel.

And, for a custom lodging experience, rent Camden Riverhouse’s apartment, cottage, or one of the suites at 8 Tannery Lane in downtown Camden.

Cedar Crest Inn

The seasonal, motel-style Cedar Crest Inn is within walking distance of all that Camden has to offer, and yet you’ll feel miles away, surrounded as you’ll be by well-kept lawns and gardens.

Featuring an outdoor heated pool, pet-friendly rooms, and a complimentary light continental breakfast, Cedar Crest offers three buildings of a variety of guest rooms—including adjoining rooms—and is great for families.

The Towne Motel

The affordable, recently-updated Towne Motel is a solid option if you’re looking for a convenient location, clean and comfortable accommodations, and surprisingly abundant amenities for the price.

You’ll enjoy private bathrooms, high-quality bedding, air conditioning, a mini-refrigerator, and a Keurig coffee maker in every room, as well as a complimentary, abundant, homemade continental breakfast every morning.

The entire property is non-smoking, and a pet-friendly suite is available.

High Tide Inn

The meticulously-kept cottages and motel of the High Tide Inn are located at the base of Mt. Megunticook—perfect for day-trippers and hikers.

Surrounded by breathtaking gardens and an expansive private beach, this combination bed and breakfast/motel is family-friendly and offers five pet-friendly rooms.

The Inn is just a 5-minute drive from downtown Camden, so you won’t have to go far to enjoy a nice dinner out…and you won’t have to go anywhere for your morning meal, because a delicious, house-made continental breakfast is included with your stay.

Hartstone Inn & Hideaway

This upscale respite has received numerous mentions and accolades for both lodging and dining; the in-house restaurant is just as impressive as the Inn itself.

All 22 of the tastefully decorated guest rooms and suites in the three Hartstone Inn buildings feature private baths, original artwork, bespoke décor, and luxury linens—and you’ll also enjoy an a la carte, multi-course, full breakfast with your stay.

Blackberry Inn

This historic 1849 “Painted Lady” inn offers guests the perfect marriage of vintage and modern.

The architecture is original—but the amenities are nothing but upscale and updated: Air conditioning, private baths, gas fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and more are just waiting to pamper you.

You’ll also be treated to a made-to-order, gourmet breakfast each morning of your stay, and if you happen to be there on the second Saturday of the month, you’ll be treated to one of the Inn’s signature “tea events.”

Whoa, Nellie! I’ve prattled on for too long…but I can’t bear to leave any stones unturned—so here are two more spots that deserve just as much consideration as the others I’ve covered here.

The historic, newly-renovated Belmont Inn bed and breakfast is upscale and centrally located, and if you’re looking for affordability, comfort, and quality in a bed and breakfast format, you can’t go wrong with The Inn at Camden Place.
