An outlet store in Freeport, ME
For those of you that have read my articles in the past, you know by now that I prefer to include independent, small businesses on these lists. But when writing about clothing stores in Freeport? Yeeaaahhh…you can’t avoid those big-name stores.

Not that there’s anything wrong with shopping at those kinds of establishments, mind you. And—bonus!—when shopping in Freeport, it’s all about outlets…and you’ll be sparing your wallet a fair amount of pain.

Take a gander at the array of stores below and you’ll see what I mean—most of them include the words “outlet” or “factory” in their name. And note that this list is by no means exhaustive—that would take a write-up of far many more words than I have room for.

These Freeport clothing stores offer Maine fashion at extraordinary prices.

Rustic Arrow

Rustic Arrow opened in 2016 and is the only small, independently-owned shop on this list. Offering “ethically-made, sustainable boutique apparel,” the owners here aim to seek out and promote local makers and support as many female-run small businesses as possible.

All of the unique women’s apparel here is of the highest quality and sustainably made; the collections have a boho, eclectic vibe and you’re sure to find the perfect finishing touches for your newly-purchased outfit from the wide variety of funky accessories on offer.

You’ll also find baby products, gift items, and handmade jewelry at Rustic Arrow.

Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store

This internationally-known brand started selling men’s ties in 1967—but as we all know, Ralph Lauren has come a long way since then. Now familiar to all as a lifestyle clothing brand for men, women, and children, the upscale apparel here typically has upscale price tags (deservedly so) to match.

But at the Factory Store, you can save up to half off of retail prices—which is a deal you can’t afford to ignore, given the craftsmanship of these well-known clothing collections (such as the iconic Polo shirts).

Another company that began its retail journey selling only ties, vineyard vines was established in 1998—and soon grew to an outdoor-centric clothing company for the whole family.

Much of the apparel here has an inherent, vacation-like vibe and reflects the owners’ love for timeless, comfortable classics; styles for the office, on the beach, or on the trails. And at the Outlet, prepare to get much more bang for your buck, to the tune of up to 50% off regular prices.

The American Eagle brand aims to help you “feel like your best, most comfortable self all day, every day.” Sounds good to me!

Offering on-trend, casual apparel for men and women, American Eagle’s target audience is the younger set—predominantly tweens to twenty-somethings or so—and the styles on offer reflect this.

Denim is an AE specialty, and their collections here can’t be beat—every cut, color, rise, and silhouette is on offer at AE. Mom jeans? Yup. Skinny? Sure. High rise, jeggings, bootcut, flare, bellbottom? All there, all sizes, all for you.

L.L. Bean Freeport Outlet

Many folks know that Freeport is home to the L.L. Bean flagship store…but it’s surprising how many of those shoppers don’t realize there are mind-blowing deals to be had for some of those very same products just down the road and across the street.

The L.L. Bean Outlet store is where all of the returned items wind up—and shoppers in the know (and willing to search the racks) can reap the benefits.

Steeply-discounted clothing, outerwear, and footwear for the whole family can be found here, along with most other L.L. Bean-branded products. I even know of someone who found a returned monogrammed bag that matched her own initials there—and got it for 60% off.

Patagonia Outlet

Featuring renowned, stellar craftsmanship, the Patagonia brand makes durability a top priority, because the longer their outdoor-centric clothing lasts, the less water and energy is wasted on excess production.

Every item is covered by their Ironclad Guarantee, meaning they’ll repair or replace it (or refund your money if neither is possible) if you aren’t satisfied.

The Outlet offers amazing deals on all of the long-lasting women’s, men’s, and children’s apparel—items of timeless style, utility, and comfort that will be worn or passed down for years to come.
