One of the youngest cities in Maine (median age of 35 in 2019), Biddeford has recreated and redefined itself in very short order, with new bistros, bars, shops, and businesses opening up by droves with each passing year.
But one thing hasn’t changed—Biddeford has had several claims to pizza fame for many years, and along with some new players in the arena, there is plenty of round, cheesy, saucy goodness to be found along these bustling streets.
Map Of Biddeford Pizza Restaurants
The map below shows the locations of every restaurant mentioned in this post:
Coletti’s Pizza Factory
This take-out-only local fixture has been crafting their Neapolitan-style pies by hand since 2000, and a simple quick peek at their menu will have you drooling, believe me.
And just as you’re told not to judge a book by its cover, don’t let Coletti’s place of business—it looks like a nondescript house set back off U.S. Route 1—deter you from giving them a try.
I’d driven by it for over four years before I even noticed the place—and boy, had I been missing out.
These pies are the stuff pizza lovers like me dream about—like their Volcano Pizza, which is basically a giant, round calzone: Pizza sauce, ricotta, eggplant, ham, and basil…with another thin crust on top.

Pizza by Alex
This spot is another no-dine-in option, and also is extremely popular with locals and tourists alike.
Located just outside the city center—look for their retro-style neon sign—this tiny corner shop does one thing, and one thing only: Make amazing, homemade, Greek-style pizza.
Except for three special pies, their whole menu is build-your-own and includes four options for how much cheese and sauce (none, light, half, or extra) you want, as well as the level of doneness for your pie (half-cooked, light, medium, or crispy).
And as much as I love being creative, I typically opt out of building my own and go with Alex’s Special: Onions, green peppers, salami, pepperoni, mushrooms, and Greek olives.

Louis Pizza, Inc.
This cozy spot has all the hallmarks of a classic pizza joint: Vinyl booths, a busy counter, sports on TV, a fish tank to entertain impatient little ones, and a great menu of pizzas, sandwiches, subs, salads, and dinners.
They have a hearty list of topping options, and a short collection of specialty pies as well.
Louis offers dine-in and delivery, and be sure to check for daily pizza specials.
Their menu can be found in the photos on their Facebook page (link below)—but if you want to save time, just trust me and order their Cheeseburger Pizza.

TJ’s Pizza
Since 1982, TJ’s has been delighting pizza fanatics from near and far with their made-to-order pies—which come in four sizes (the 10” small, 13” medium, 17” jumbo, and 20” colossal).
Both the dough and sauce are made in-house, and their pizza specials are hugely popular, namely the Tiger Pride: A colossal cheese pizza, a box of fries, and a 2-liter bottle of soda…and $1 from each sale goes to a local scholarship, to boot.
For a taste sensation, try the Chili Pizza—a real, mealtime marvel: A fresh, homemade crust topped with piles of TJ’s house-made chili. Genius!

Portland Pie Company
This Maine favorite is a real crowd-pleaser, and is a familiar name to many; with 8 locations throughout the state, Portland Pie has a loyal following.
With both a dining room and pub area, you can choose whichever matches your mood—or take it home.
The menu does offer a huge selection of non-pizza options, but that’s not what we’re here to talk about, is it?
Whether you build your own or opt for one of their specialty pies, you’ll find the choices almost overwhelming, starting with one of four dough flavors (basil, beer, garlic, or wheat—all scrumptious).
But before you get completely befuddled by your options, let me recommend you start by considering their signature pies—particularly, the Prosciutto and Boursin: Garlic and oil base, three-cheese blend, spinach, peppadew peppers, prosciutto, and Boursin cheese.
That was easy!

Market’s Kitchen
This spot crossed my radar unexpectedly—probably because it is the café at Market Basket.
But the facts don’t lie: folks rave about the pizza here.
High quality, affordable prices, amazing flavor—check, check, and check.
Fresh, made-to-order pies, baked in a brick oven and served up hot.
You can order by the slice if you want—but be aware that a slice is a full quarter of a pizza. Now, that’s my kind of slice!
The 19” pies are available in either traditional or Sicilian style with 11 toppings to choose from.
So, the next time you find yourself being serenaded by your grumbling stomach as you wrap up your grocery shopping at The Basket, know that delicious, pizza goodness is waiting for you mere steps away.

Jaky’s Market and Deli
With limited seating, you’d most likely do best to plan on take-out from this little family-run market.
Chock-full of convenience items—including an impressive cooler of micro-brews—Jaky’s is the perfect one-stop shop.
The menu items here are fresh and made with high-quality ingredients, and feature much more than just their delicious pizza, which comes in 10” or 16” with 13 topping options.
And be sure to check out their homemade baked goods for dessert!

Blaze Brewing Company
With views of the Saco River just outside, this latest addition to the micro-brewery scene in Biddeford (opened during the midst of COVID, God love ‘em) also features a great pub-style menu in addition to their brews.
With five different specialty wood-fired pizzas to choose from—in addition to the other delicious menu options—Blaze Brewing gives you plenty of choices to make sure those potent IPAs don’t catch you by surprise.
And if you’re feeling kind of…meaty, try their Local Farmer’s Pizza: Pizza sauce, house-made sausage, hamburger, chorizo, bacon, parmesan, provolone, and mozzarella.
Location: 28 Pearl St, Biddeford, ME 04005
Website: Blaze Brewing Company
And before I depart, I have five more establishments to mention, each a chain-style shop, but worthy of mention, for sure—especially for those of you that are the “only one place will do” type.
Papa John’s is open late and has some belly-busting favorites that just seem to taste better after 11 p.m., like their Epic Stuffed Crust Pizza.
Amato’s was born in Portland, Maine back in 1900—so you can trust their pizza technique…they’ve been at it for a while.
And, of course, there’s always the old standbys: Domino’s, Panera Bread (their new flatbread pizzas are delightful), and Pizza Hut Express.
