And regardless of what style or level of cuisine your palate is craving, Ogunquit surely has the perfect establishment to satiate your appetite.
Map Of Ogunquit Restaurants
The map below shows the locations of every restaurant mentioned in this post:
Angelina’s Ristorante
Awarded several accolades by Portsmouth Magazine and Maine Sunday Telegram, Angelina’s is the place to go when you want the best Italian food the area has to offer—and an astounding wine selection to accompany it.
With several different seating options (a dining room, lounge, terrace, and even a private wine room) and an extensive menu made up mostly of recipes handed down from Chef David Giarusso’s great-grandmother, Angelina’s also offers weekly specials and exclusive wine dinners.
Their authentic, homemade pastas and sauces explode with flavor in every dish—and be prepared to bring some home, as the portions are generous as well as filling.

So Zap
This self-labeled urban Thai kitchen is a genuine find on the coast of Maine. Located just outside the busy intersection of Route 1 and Main Street, So Zap’s thoughtful menu of slightly-tweaked-yet-familiar Thai recipes crackles with creativity and authenticity.
Chances are you’ll be successfully tempted away from your Thai food go-to menu item time and again after scanning So Zap’s offerings; everything just looks too good not to try at least once. I, for one, am going to stray from my same-old, same-old order of Pad Thai in favor of their Panang Curry next time.

Old Village Inn
This historic establishment has been pleasing visitors and locals alike for many years; their warm, tavern-style interior welcomes all who enter, no matter which dining area they choose. Both the pub and bistro offer menus of classic comfort food, presented beautifully and in abundance.
While reservations are strongly recommended and the Old Village Inn (or OVI, as it is locally known) is not the type of place you can walk into wearing your beach attire, casual diners are just as welcome as those more formally-dressed.

The Front Porch
This one is probably one of my top dining choices in Ogunquit. With three distinctly separate dining areas, The Front Porch—ironically—does not have a porch at all. But no matter where you choose to satiate your appetite—the cozy, magical dining room, the lounge, or the always-something-happening piano bar on the second story—you’ll be treated to an exemplary meal, with fantastic service, in a welcoming atmosphere.
And while the first-floor dining areas and the piano bar have separate food menus, you really can’t go wrong, no matter what you order (and a shout-out to their especially-amazing craft cocktail menu; their TFP Tiki Punch or the Sweata’ Weatha’ are dangerously delicious).

Northern Union
An elegant, rustic gastropub with an Instagram-worthy photo at every turn, Northern Union is one of those places where you give a little inner gasp of contented happiness when you walk in—and that contentment only increases as you peruse their menus, perfect for grazing, sharing, or any manner you wish to enjoy your meal.
The snug space is filled with warm, glowing wood, intimate lighting, beautiful artwork, and cozy seating niches; the food is artfully presented and demonstrates a passion for and dedication to culinary excellence.

Bonissoni Brazilian Steakhouse
If you’ve never experienced a Brazilian steakhouse meal, now is your chance to dine Rodízio-style. This means for one price, you will be served in rounds, where the servers bring unlimited course after course of delectable meats—think pork and beef tenderloin, rack and leg of lamb, pork and beef ribs, sausage, ribeye, bacon-wrapped chicken, and more—and carve them directly onto your plate until you have no space to spare in your stomach.
But be aware—you also have unlimited access to a “sides bar” that includes options like polenta, cheese bread, mashed potatoes, fried plantains, collard greens with garlic, and grilled cinnamon pineapple. And if you happen to have any spare sliver of appetite left, there is an amazing dessert menu, too.

That Place in Ogunquit
This urban-chic, recently-renovated hotspot with the clever name is the perfect place to meet up with friends for drinks, a meal, or both—the lively atmosphere and casual vibe lend themselves to fun, camaraderie, and relaxation. Offering seating in either the bar or dining room, That Place’s menus vary depending on which area you choose, so perhaps take a peek before you decide (although I’m partial to the Big Mac Pizza on the bar menu—it’s like a cheeseburger and pizza, all in one personal-pan-sized dish of magic deliciousness).

Five-O Shore Road
A more upscale option on Shore Road, Five-O is a stellar example of a refined—but never stuffy—dining experience. Reservations are all but necessary at this very popular spot, and the ever-changing menu by Chef James Walter features small plates, sandwiches, and a mouthwatering array of entrees (I could easily have their zesty Strozzapreti for breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
While their brunch service is temporarily suspended, Five-O is open for dinner, and also does catering and in-house events.

Jonathan’s
Another local institution, Jonathan’s is located just outside the center of Ogunquit—and the venue itself is just as enjoyable as their extensive, farm-to-table menu. With beautiful gardens, an indoor, 600-gallon fish tank, and a popular performance/event hall upstairs, Jonathan’s has been feeding and entertaining happy customers for over four decades.
The restaurant’s slogan is to #eatwell, and much of the fresh produce used in creating the menu items is sourced at owner Jonathan West’s farm. For dinner and a show, Jonathan’s is the way to go.

M.C. Perkins Cove
There are many dining options to be found in Perkins Cove—a congested tourist hotbed of activity come summertime—but this is one of my favorites, year-round. Perched so close to the water that you feel you are actually on a boat or pier—and voted one of the “Top Ten Places in the World with a View” by U.S.A. Today—M.C. Perkins Cove has it all: Atmosphere, culinary excellence, superior service, and panoramic ocean views.
The dining space is surrounded by windows on three sides, and the aesthetic is chic and uncluttered, letting the breathtaking scenery just outside take center stage.

As always, here are a few more spots I had to mention, each one ticking a specific culinary box (note that all five of these establishments are seasonal—alas). If you have a crew that’s screaming for ice cream, Sweet Pea’s Ice Cream has a long, scrumptious list of flavors on offer. And while the ever-popular Barnacle Billy’s is certainly a great seafood spot right on Perkins Cove, my favorite thing to enjoy on their deck is their unspeakably delicious rum punch. La Pizzeria is a great New York pizza-style option (they have subs and salads, too), perfect for take-out on the beach. Brix + Brine is a unique, upscale al fresco dining experience—ideal for people-watching whilst enjoying oysters on the half-shell with a cocktail or glass of wine. And for breakfast, you can’t go wrong at the Egg and I pancake and waffle house, going strong for over 40 years.
