Eggs Benedict at Old Orchard Beach
My favorite meal to dine out for is breakfast—especially when I’m on vacation.

And because Old Orchard Beach (or OOB) is a mostly-seasonal resort town, the area is flush with all manner of fantastic restaurants, markets, and eateries just waiting to provide summer visitors and locals alike with a healthy (or not-so-healthy) breakfast bang.

Some of these establishments are seasonal (much like the majority of the population here), so be sure to check your chosen spot’s website before venturing out.

Map of Old Orchard Beach Breakfast Locations

This map lists all of the Old Orchard Beach breakfast spots in this article, allowing you to hunt out the most important meal of the day in seconds flat:

Rumorz Bistro

Open all year for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Rumorz is a cozy, friendly spot at the Grand Beach Inn Resort, perfect for a hot cup of coffee (or iced, come July) and some home-cooked fare.

The breakfast menu is full of familiar, comfort-food favorites like omelets, Benedicts, sandwiches, and combination platters…and since you are in Maine, after all, give the Lobster Benny a try.

Location: 198 E Grand Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Strike Zone Restaurant & Pub

It’s not often a sports pub also offers breakfast…but there’s a first time for everything.

Even the food sections in The Strike Zone’s breakfast menu are sports-centric, such as Minors (smaller plates), Majors (combo platters), and On-Deck (sides).

But when I go out to breakfast, I like to knock my appetite out of the park (see what I did there?), so I order the Breakfast Pizza: Eggs, cheddar/mozzarella blend, and whatever toppings catch my morning fancy (added toppings are extra).

Location: 20 Old Orchard St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064
Website: Strike Zone Restaurant & Pub

Tami Lyn’s Place

This seasonal market offers fresh, made-to-order fare with plenty of cozy indoor seating.

The breakfast menu features a down-to-business offering of combination platters, egg sandwiches, omelets, pancakes, and French toast, with plenty of sides to choose from.

And, being the sweet-and-savory morning meal kind of gal, I’d probably get the Maine Blueberry Pancakes with a hearty side of Corned Beef Hash.

Location: 126 W Grand Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064
Website: Tami Lyn’s Place

Pirates Patio & Galley

Offering breakfast on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7-11, Pirates Patio breakfast menu is simple but comprehensive…and when I say that, I mean I can get both my sweet and savory options for breakfast (a Ham and Cheddar omelet with an order of French toast on the side = morning bliss).

Coffee is served all day—for only $.99/cup—and there are also Pirates’ “famous” Bloody Marys and mimosas on offer.

Location: 2 Walnut St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Good Thyme Café

With warm and woodsy indoor seating, friendly service, and an abundant breakfast menu, the Good Thyme Café doesn’t make it easy to decide what to order—especially for someone as un-picky as I am.

Egg combination plates, omelets, scrambles, sandwiches, waffles, pancakes (plate-sized, I might add)…I could go on for days. I recommend ordering the Eggs Oscar (English muffin topped with asparagus, Maine crab, 2 poached eggs, and Hollandaise sauce) with whatever homemade muffin is on offer that day.

Location: 2 Cascade Rd, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Café 64

With Portland’s Coffee by Design alongside homemade sweet and savory breakfast options, Café 64 serves up whatever you’re jonesing for from 7 to 3 every day.

Home of “the famous Ocean Park cinnamon buns,” you’ll find both indoor and outdoor seating as well as free WiFi here.

The breakfast menu is concise and a perfectly-balanced presentation of options: Acai bowls, egg handhelds, bagels…and I’d be hard put to decide between the Brigus Burrito (2 eggs, choice of meat, cheddar, and Cowboy Caviar) or the Huevos Rancheros (3 scrambled eggs, Cowboy Caviar, chorizo, and cheddar w/salsa and guacamole).

Location: 35 Old Orchard St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

JJ’s Eatery

While the breakfast menu is diminutive at JJ’s, it still packs a palate-pleasing wallop.

Eight delicious options spanning a varied culinary swath—sweet, savory, handhelds, fork-and-knife platters…the choice is yours.

But if the choice were mine, I’d get the Breakfast Club (triple-decker toast with egg, cheese, bacon, and lettuce) with a side of the house-made cornbread.

Location: 12B Old Orchard St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Beach Bagels

This sweet little stand-alone café has been baking 15 variations of bagel deliciousness for over 20 years in OOB, much to the joy of loyal customers.

But Beach Bagels makes far more than fresh bagels and bagel sandwiches for breakfast; pancakes, French toast, egg combination platters, Belgian waffles, omelets, and pastries round out the menu here, as well.

For a little bit of everything, I suggest the French Toast Special: 2 slices of French toast, 2 bacon strips, 1 sausage patty, 2 eggs, and home fries.

Location: 34 Old Orchard St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Elevate Café

Formerly known as the Star Struck Café, Elevate is a combination yoga studio and coffee shop—brilliant!

Offering a small breakfast menu (as well as lunch and dessert), there are just enough morning offerings to satisfy everyone.

All of the sandwiches are made to order, and the mouthwatering cinnamon buns are made from scratch.

I’d definitely get one of those to sidecar with Elevate’s Breakfast Burrito: Scrambled eggs, cheese, sautéed veggies, and meat of choice.

Location: 155 Saco Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064
Website: Elevate Café

Dolce Crema Café

This is the best kind of place: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, espresso, homemade gelato, sorbet.

Open May-September, the Dolce Crema Café offers eight different breakfast options—combo plates, English muffin sandwiches, and a fantastic panini—as well as plenty of fresh bagels and sides.

If you time it right (breakfast is served until noon), your first meal of the day could hold you over until dinner, especially if you get the #8 Panini: 2 eggs with bacon, ham, or sausage, topped with cheese, all sandwiched between sourdough and grilled to melty perfection.

Location: 1 E Grand Ave STE 3, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064
Website: Dolce Crema Café

Alouette Beach Café

Located at the Alouette Beach Resort and open to the public, this snug little café is open all year round.

There is a full breakfast menu on offer, including homemade pastries, large and small combination platters, 3-egg omelets, sandwiches, French toast, pancakes, and Belgian waffles.

For my sweet-and-savory morning fix, I’d go for a tomato, cheddar, and spinach omelet with a homemade muffin-of-the-day on the side (grilled, of course).

Location: 91 E Grand Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064
Website: Alouette Beach Café

As I mentioned before, Old Orchard Beach has more than enough breakfast options to please every palate, pocketbook…and schedule. If you find yourself short on time, there are plenty of spots that offer fresh, made-to-order breakfasts, ready in a flash, such as Ocean Park Subs and Grocery, Red Door Market and Deli, David’s Sub Shop, and Sheila’s General Store.

And here are a couple of extras for you, because that’s how I roll: If you’re looking for an elevated breakfast experience, head to Joseph’s by the Sea, and Big Daddy’s plans to kick off their 2022 season with an all-new breakfast menu.
