I’ve said it before—there’s just something about pizza that begs to be eaten at the beach. And Old Orchard Beach—OOB to locals and summer people—just seems to lend itself to that partnership.
Perhaps it’s the lively sights and nostalgic smells of Palace Playland’s midway, or the sound of the waves lapping at the pilings on OOB’s famed pier that make folks yearn for the favorite foods of their childhood.
No matter what the cause, pizza is a resoundingly popular repast for Old Orchard beachgoers; you’ll find myriad opinions on which pizza style is best…and there are plenty of establishments up to the challenge of satisfying everyone.
Map of the Best Pizza Places in Old Orchard Beach
This handy map has all the pizza places mentioned in this article, so you can easily track down your new favorite pie:
The Local Eatery & Tap
Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, The Local Eatery is a bright, bistro-style spot offering a robust pub-fare menu—including, of course, pizza.
Choose between a personal-size or jumbo pie—and then perhaps consider ordering The Godfather, which is the best specialty pizza on their roster, IMHO: Local Eatery’s classic cheese pizza piled with pepperoni, sausage, and spicy cherry peppers.
Location: 23 Washington Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Duffy’s Tavern & Grill OOB
Duffy’s is a local favorite—perfect for watching a game, catching up with friends…and pizza after a day on the beach.
The 10” personal pizzas are sized just right to fill that sand-and-surf-induced void in your belly; choose from ten toppings to create your own pie, or select either the Veggie, Buffalo Chicken, or The Works specialty pizzas (or all three).
And for any gluten-free peeps in your party, Duffy’s also has a cauliflower crust.
Location: 168 Saco Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Rumorz Bistro
This cheerful, bright eatery at the Grand Beach Inn Resort is open year-round, and pizza is featured on both the lunch and dinner menus here.
At lunchtime, choose from 13 fresh toppings for your 10” pie, and at dinnertime, Rumorz adds two specialty pies—a Philly Steak and a Tuscan Chicken pie—to the menu.
The Tuscan Chicken is my favorite—white sauce, pizza cheese blend, bacon, chicken, red onion, and tomatoes).
Location: 198 E Grand Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Lisa’s Pizza
A seasonal Old Orchard tradition, Lisa’s Pizza is located right next to Palace Playland and has been serving up its iconic pizza since 1974.
This take-out-only popular spot makes their pizza dough fresh every day—and the menu is about as basic as it gets…in the best way possible.
Get a slice, or get a jumbo pie; choose from 8 toppings, or try the Lisa’s Special: pepperoni, mushrooms, green pepper, and onions. Done—minimal brain power needed.
Location: 17 Old Orchard St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Bill’s Pizza
Another seasonal favorite in the heart of OOB, this take-out establishment also offers pizza by the slice or jumbo-sized (16”). There are 16 toppings to choose from, and the only specialty pie is the “All Dressed,” which also happens to be my favorite: Green peppers, onions, mushrooms, black olives, pepperoni, and extra cheese.
Location: 12 Old Orchard St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Strike Zone Restaurant & Pub
The Strike Zone is open all year and features plenty of HDTVs for sports as well as a sizeable pub menu—including pizza. All of the Strike Zone’s hand-stretched pies come in three sizes—10”, 12”, and 16”, as well as a gluten-free, 10” option—and it’s all about build-your-own here…no specialty options.
Choose from 14 meat and vegetable toppings to create your perfect pizza palate-pleaser.
Location: 20 Old Orchard St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Jumpin’ Jake’s Pizza and Seafood Café
This casual restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining, as well as seating at the bar. The menu is well-rounded…and so are the 10” pizzas (ha).
Select from 17 toppings to make your own creation, or choose one of Jake’s five specialty pies; I suggest ordering the East Grand, with hamburger, red onion, pepperoni, and cheese.
Location: 181 Saco Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Tami Lyn’s Place
This seasonal market/eatery makes all of their food fresh daily, to order—including their pizzas.
Tami Lyn’s opened in 2012 and is family-run…which means a little bit of love goes into everything they do. Pies come in 10” or 16”, including a 10” gluten-free pie; there are 10 toppings if you opt to create your own, and five specialty pizzas (I love their Buffalo Chicken pie).
Location: 126 W Grand Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Pirates Patio & Galley
With free pizza from 3 to 5 and $3 Bud drafts all day on Sundays during football season, Pirates Patio can get pretty lively.
The Boston-style pizza—the same award-winning recipe used by their sister property, reviewed below—here is available by the slice or whole pie; there are 17 toppings to choose from, or you can opt for one of 15 specialty pies. And because I’ve got a fair fraction of Italian in me, I recommend the Italian Mother pizza: Garlic butter, pasta sauce, chopped meatballs, and Italian sausage.
Location: 2 Walnut St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Pier Pizza
Established in 1980, this sister property to Pirates Patio is perched on the iconic OOB Pier and offers subs, calzones, pasta, and salads in addition to their popular create-your-own and specialty pizzas.
I mentioned one of my favorites above…but when I’m really feeling like giving healthy eating the old heave-ho, I order the Junkfood Junkie pie: Fried onion ring bits, chopped chicken fingers, bacon…and of course, extra cheese.
Location: 2 Old Orchard St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Jimmy the Greek’s
Brick oven pizza and over 50 beers on tap…what are you waiting for? Pizza, beer, and proximity to the beach. Talk about a trifecta!
There is a lengthy list of 18 toppings from which to create your own pizza topping concoction for your large or small pie.
Or, like me, you may decide to select from Jimmy’s 14 Signature pies; for a belly-busting experience, go for the Reuben Pizza, topped with corned beef, sauerkraut, and swiss cheese.
Location: 215 Saco Ave, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064
Website: Jimmy the Greek’s
With its midway-style hub of activity, Old Orchard Beach just seems to lend itself to seasonal food stands that acquire wildly loyal customers over the years.
Here are just a few more such establishments for you to consider when craving pizza in Old Orchard Beach.
Both Rossetti’s Pizza and Rocco’s Pizza make a mean pepperoni pie (Rocco’s calzones and Rossetti’s poutine are also mention-worthy), and the burgers at Ramunno’s are just as mouth-watering as the pizza.
