But the fact is, no matter what time of year it is, folks gotta have their pizza—and you’ll find both year-round and seasonal pizza destinations reviewed here for your Bar Harbor dining pleasure.
Map Of Bar Harbor Pizza Restaurants
The map below shows the locations of every restaurant mentioned in this post:
Reel Pizza Cinerama
Whoever came up with the concept of combining a restaurant with a cinema deserves some kind of award—and Reel Pizza takes it up a notch with their amazing roster of specialty pizzas, all available year-round (take-out only in the off-season).
Whether you choose Reel Pizza’s indoor or outdoor cinema, the food tastes just as good, and they even offer craft brews and wine by the glass. Their menu goes beyond pizza to include soups, salads, nachos, and sides—but it’s really all about those pies.
One of my favorites is the Manchurian Candidate (pies are named after movies)—peanut sauce, mozzarella, carrots, scallions, and choice of chicken or tofu.
Location: 33 Kennebec Pl, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Blaze
Another year-round option, Blaze is a more upscale eatery; their menu offers an eclectic collection of elevated pub fare, including four signature, wood-fired pizzas.
Each feature a different sauce base and markedly creative toppings; all are worth trying, but my go-to is the Blaze BBQ pie: Blaze BBQ sauce, Blaze-seasoned pulled chicken, Blaze Meat Company cheddarwurst, pickled jalapeños, red onion, Pineland Farms smoked cheddar, and sriracha aioli.
Pair that with a Blaze Beet salad and local microbrew, and you’re cooking with gas.
Location: 198 Main St, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Tailgate Kitchen and Bar
This year-round favorite makes delicious pizza—and other than a few salads and an amazing house-made chocolate peanut butter pie for dessert, pizza is all they make…so they’re dang good at it!
Their menu is loaded with mouth-watering specialty pizzas and a build-your-own section worthy of kings; the pies are 12” (a 10” gluten-free cauliflower crust is also available), and all of the sauces are made in-house.
If you want to make your visit to Bar Harbor even more of a Maine-y experience, order the Lobster Bisque Pizza (lobster bisque, chunks of Maine lobster, arugula, roasted tomato, red onion) and a Lunch IPA from the Maine Brewing Company.
Location: 131 Cottage St, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Pat’s Pizza
Pat’s has been treating folks to their signature pies at their 15 locations across the state since 1931—a true institution to generations of Maine pizza lovers. With a warm, tavern-style interior and a full bar, many people choose to enjoy their pies on-site—especially during those long winter months when a little laughter and camaraderie is called for.
Their pies come in 9” and 14”, and many of the specialty pizzas come in calzone form, too. Their Taco Pizza is a huge draw—all the taco toppings you could want, piled onto a fresh pizza crust. Pat’s is also known for giving customers options for how “done” they want their pizza; choose from “Cook light,” “Crispy,” or “Well done.” Genius!

Colonel’s
You can enjoy Colonel’s sized-just-right menu any time of year, thankfully; I don’t know about you, but I tend to crave pizza far more during the chillier months.
Colonel’s does pizza right, along with the rest of their comfort-food-style fare. You can either build your own 10” or 16” pie, or opt for one of their specialty pizzas; you do you, but I highly recommend the Reuben: Thin slices of corned beef, topped with sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing.
Location: 143 Main St, Northeast Harbor, ME 04662

West Eden Pizza
This take-out-only, year-round local favorite offers 9 signature specialty pizzas, in addition to the build-your-own option. West Eden’s menu also features salads, hot and cold subs, and—wait for it—a rotating lineup of homemade whoopie pies.
But back to the pizza…I tend to gravitate toward specialty pies, and that is the case here, as well. I love the McDowell’s pizza, a local riff on a McDonald’s Big Mac: Hamburger, onion, pickles, mozzarella, Thousand Island dressing, and shredded lettuce.
Location: 1317 ME-102, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Aloha Poke Bowl Restaurant
Despite being a poke bowl restaurant, Aloha’s menu is far more diverse than their name gives them credit for.
Any time of year, you can stop in to this cozy, convivial eatery and partake of some downright delicious pizza (who knew??), in addition to their signature poke bowls, small plates, soup, salads, sandwiches, and burgers.
But since we’re here to talk about pizza, let me suggest the Aloha Blue: Blueberry BBQ sauce base, grilled chicken, pineapple, jalapeños, and blueberries (trust me—it’s a taste sensation).
Location: 131 Cottage St, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Lompoc Café and Books
This delightful little seasonal nook has a menu to match its size; small but perfectly suitable. In addition to their four specialty, made-to-order pizzas, Lompoc also offers breakfast and several sandwiches for lunch.
If you’re looking for a pie to really tide you over until dinner, I suggest you choose the Miss Piggy’s Hot Girl Summer: Pork, bacon, cheddar, and mozzarella with red sauce and a few dashes of sriracha.
Location: 36 Rodick St, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Geddy’s
Open seasonally for lunch, dinner, and cocktails, Geddy’s is a casual, family-friendly spot filled with energy, quirky signage, and scrumptious brick-oven pizza.
A good portion of their extensive menu is seafood-centric (because Bar Harbor), and two of their signature pies fall under that seafood-y category: The Shrimp Garlic Scampi and the Lobster, Smoked Bacon, and Jalapeño pies.
And, you can enjoy your pizza with breathtaking water views. It just doesn’t get any better than that, right?

La Bella Vita
Located at the seasonal Harborside Hotel, La Bella Vita is an upscale Italian restaurant where every seat affords ocean views.
Their light and crispy brick oven “pizzettes” are made-to-order with only the freshest ingredients—and if you’re on the hunt for a unique and creative option, try the Umbria: Wild mushrooms, asiago cream, truffle oil, and crisp arugula.
The menu at La Bella Vita features so much more than pizza—so if there is anyone in your party that’s just not feeling the pizza love, they’ll options.

Pepper’s Pizza and Subs
With minimal web presence, this seasonal spot is nonetheless extremely popular—they rely on word-of-mouth to promote their pizza, and clearly, it’s worked for them, as their name consistently pops up in web searches for Bar Harbor pizza.
A nuts-and-bolts kind of place, Peppers doesn’t waste any time with specialty pies; they give you a list of toppings, and you pick what you want on your 10” or 16” pie.
Oh, and they also serve Gifford’s Homemade Ice Cream—a twofer!

Rosalie’s
Since 1981, this family-run, seasonal spot has been crafting their 7”, 14”, 17”, and 19” pies from scratch.
Dine-in, take-out, build-your-own, thin crust, double dough…so many delicious options!
But, as usual, I’m going to have to recommend one of their 5 specialty pies. Give the Rosie’s Choice a try: Fresh spinach, mushrooms, garlic, and oil. Divine.
Location: 46 Cottage St, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Time for me to wrap up my pizza perusal…but here are a couple more seasonal spots for you to add to your list when on the hunt for yummy pizza in Bar Harbor. Sweet Pea’s wood-fired pies are a pizza-lover’s delight, and the Seafood Pizza (Maine lobster, shrimp, and scallops topped with alfredo sauce) at the Route 66 Restaurant is a party for your taste buds.
