Adjacent to South Portland, Scarborough often gets overlooked or bypassed when folks are considering either a Maine vacation or relocation.
But this beautiful coastal town has plenty to offer those who aren’t looking for the hubbub of the city—including plentiful dining options.
Whether you’re looking for a sit-down, table-service kind of experience, or just want to grab some take-out and eat in front of your TV, you’ll undoubtedly find exactly what will fill that void in your belly…especially if you’re hankering for pizza.
Map of Scarborough Pizza Places
This helpful map of all the Scarborough pizza joints we mention in this article will have you well on your way to snagging your next slice:
Pat’s Pizza of Scarborough
A Maine-grown favorite, Pat’s has been making award-winning pies from scratch in Scarborough since 1985.
This family-owned Maine franchise is hugely popular no matter what town you find it in—and Scarborough is no exception.
With table service, bar seating, and take-out available, Pat’s is a local favorite with its comfortable, casual, and friendly atmosphere…oh, and of course, there’s the amazing pizza. With 20 Classic and 16 Signature pies to choose from (a small is 9” and a large is 14”), as well as a build-your-own option, pizza fanatics will be in seventh heaven here.
If you typically get a salad with your pizza, why not kill two birds with one stone and get the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza? It’s exactly what it sounds like…and mouthwateringly delicious.

Portland Pie Company
Another “made in Maine” business, Portland Pie is one of the most popular pizza franchises in the state.
And if you haven’t had the opportunity to try their pies yet, then run—don’t walk—to the nearest location.
Start by selecting a crust size (10” regular, gluten-free, or cauliflower; 14” thin, or 16”), pick a dough flavor (basil, beer, garlic, or wheat) …and then it’s off to the races.
Choose from either Portland Pie’s signature pizza offerings or build your own by picking from a list of 9 proteins, 18 veggies, and 6 types of cheese.
I always go for their Prosciutto & Boursin Cheese pizza: Garlic oil base, three-cheese blend, spinach, peppadew peppers, prosciutto, and Boursin cheese.

Romeo’s Sports Bar & Grill
With three locations in Maine, Romeo’s is a great spot to watch whatever sport tickles your fancy on TV while you enjoy a made-to-order pizza and a cold beer.
With an impressive menu of pub fare in addition to the generous list of homemade pizza, you’ll have your work cut out for you when deciding what to order.
Choose from 14 gourmet specialty pies or create your own; select thin, regular, or double dough, and then the folks at Romeo’s will top it with their house tomato sauce, cheese blend, and as many of the 27 toppings you want.

Pizza Plus Sandwich Shop
The menu at this classic pizza place is overflowing with salads, pitas, wraps, subs, calzones—and of course, pizza.
The pies come in three sizes here—10”, 14”, and 16”—and in addition to the list of 15 specialty pizzas, there is also a section they call “customizable pizzas” (which translates to “build your own”), where you choose from the list of 25 topping options.
To give your mouth a real flavor party, order the Art’s Pick pie: Capicola, red onion, spinach, feta, and tomato.

8 Corners Pizza
This counter-service local favorite features no-fuss seating and a menu of back-to-basics-style pizzas to match.
No specialty or gourmet combinations, no fancy, signature pies—just good ol’ build-your-own pizza made from scratch, to order.
There are two sizes (10” and 16”) available and 16 toppings to choose from—as well as a 16” egg and cheese breakfast pizza, with the option to add up to three more toppings.
Service is fast and friendly, and the food is divine—no frills needed.
Location: 49 Mussey Rd, Scarborough, ME 04074

Pine Point Grill
“Come when you can, just as you are” is the slogan at this elevated comfort fare eatery.
Offering a menu of small plates, salads, and entrees as well as build-your-own and specialty pizzas, Pine Point features both indoor and outdoor seating; there is also a lovely bar to belly up to and enjoy a delicious pizza…such as my favorite, the Gorgonzola, Fig, and Pancetta.

Dunstan Tap & Table
An upscale take on an American burger shop, DT&T sports a casual-yet-polished vibe.
Pizza is only one small section on the huge menu, which also features a selection of happy hour specials.
There are seven different house pies to choose from, as well as 19 other toppings.
During the warmer months, there is a patio for outdoor dining, and a first-come, first-served firepit and Adirondack chairs year-round.
You can also eat at the bar or sit in the dining room any time of year, of course.
To put a little pep in your step, I recommend the Fra Diavlo pie: spicy sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, pickled jalapeños, olives, Sichuan peppercorns, and chives.

Al’s of Scarborough
Since 1982, this family-run business has been making fresh, hot pizza for an adoring community (and kindly providing the Little League team with uniforms).
In addition to made-to-order breakfast, wraps, burgers, subs, calzones, and dinners, Al’s makes two sizes (10” round and XL Square—which is touted as “larger than a 16” round) of pizza, using made-fresh-daily dough and offering 11 topping options.
There are also three specialty pies and “Stuffed Bread,” a marvel of culinary magic that involves baking a pepperoni-and-mozzarella-stuffed loaf of bread.
Location: 139 Pleasant Hill Rd, Scarborough, ME 04074

Mac’s Deli & Catering
Predominantly a take-out establishment—although there is limited indoor seating—Mac’s is perfect for scooping up a couple of pizzas and heading down to Pine Point Beach for a day of carefree beaching.
With plenty of other options on the menu for any non-pizza peeps (is there such a thing?) in your group, no belly will go unfilled here.
There are six heavenly signature pies on offer—but I suggest going with the BBQ Steak and Cheese: Green peppers and onions, shaved sirloin, BBQ red sauce, and mozzarella cheese.

EBC Pizza
EBC is take-out-only, and another spot that is perfectly suited for beach-related hunger at Pine Point.
This extremely popular family business is seasonal—so you’ll need to exercise your powers of patience throughout the dark winter months…and when the line is long during the hot summer ones.
But trust me when I say that EBC’s pizza is well worth the wait; whether you craft your own pie or order one of their signature creations, I guarantee you’ll be back.
The Pulled Pork pizza is a true tongue titillation: White garlic aioli, apricot BBQ sauce, ricotta, green onions, and BBQ vinaigrette.
Location: 3 E Grand Ave Unit 103, Scarborough, ME 04074
Website: EBC Pizza
And, as always, there are a couple of familiar franchise options in Scarborough, like Amato’s and Little Caesar’s, for those less inclined to step outside their familiar pizza box.
