A burger at a Lake Sebago restaurant

With approximately 105 miles of shoreline, Lake Sebago is the second-largest lake in Maine—which means it attracts plenty of vacationers and sportsmen alike, and not just in the summertime.

All year long, folks come to enjoy everything from boating and swimming to ice fishing and snowmobiling in this breathtaking area—and where there are tourists, there are amenities—such as restaurants, for example.

In the Sebago Lake region, these eateries seem to congregate on the eastern shores of Jordan Bay and Sebago Lake Basin, along Roosevelt Trail (U.S. Route 302) in Raymond and Windham; there are also a couple of noteworthy spots on the western side of the lake in the town of Sebago.

Plan your next dining excursion with ease thanks to this map of our top 10 picks for Lake Sebago restaurants.

Sportsman’s Kitchen & Keg

One of two establishments located on the west side of Sebago Lake, the Sportsman’s Kitchen & Keg has its own dock right across the street; many folks simply pull up, tie off, and stroll on over for a fabulous meal of “upscale pub fare with Italian roots” and an ice cold beer or house cocktail.

Choose outdoor deck seating and enjoy the beautiful lake views, sit in the rustic-chic dining room, or belly up to the gorgeous, live-edge pine bar.

Then dive on into the menu, where you’ll find plenty of starters, entrees, sandwiches, pizza, and salads. Perhaps start with the Li’l Diablos (bacon-wrapped jalapeños filled with shrimp cream cheese), and then move on to The Gravy (house-made meatballs or sausage with the family’s signature red sauce, served on your choice of pasta).

Richard’s Dairy Delight

Just three minutes north of the Sportsman’s Kitchen & Keg, Richard’s Dairy Delight is far more than just delicious Gifford’s ice cream, despite what the name might imply.

This seasonal take-out spot has been serving up summertime smiles since 1954 and is the perfect spot to pick up a meal to enjoy lakeside, or perhaps on your boat.

The menu is full of affordable, family-friendly fare, offering everything from clam cake appetizers and salads to sandwiches and seafood platters.

I recommend the Clam Cake (house-made!) dinner, served with fries, coleslaw, and a lemon wedge.

A La Mexicana

On the other side of Sebago Lake, A La Mexicana is a bright and festive Mexican version of an all-American diner, right down to the black-and-white checkered-tile floor and red vinyl banquettes.

Customers rave about the huge portions of fresh, authentic fare, as well as how reasonably priced everything is and the uber-friendly service. The menu is extensive, and features all of the usual suspects like tacos, fajitas, quesadillas, burritos, and enchiladas; you’ll also find special dinner entrees and combination meals, salads, and vegetarian options.

Oh, and the margaritas are not to be missed.

The Beacon

Sometimes, you’re just in the mood for pizza—and nothing else will do. And that’s where The Beacon really shines (see what I did there?).

Choose from three sizes (10”, 12”, and 16”, as well as a 10” gluten-free crust), all made with fresh dough and a house-seasoned sauce. There are 11 specialty pizzas on offer, or you can create your own signature pie by selecting as many toppings as you want from the list of 19 options. And while all of the pizzas are fantastic at The Beacon, might I suggest the mouthwatering BLT Pizza (mayo base, pieces of applewood-smoked bacon, cheese blend, topped with lettuce, tomato, bacon, and another drizzle of mayo)?

Café Sebago Bar & Grill

“Maine’s hotspot near Sebago Lake” has a little of something for everyone, featuring both indoor and outdoor seating, a lively bar with weekly entertainment, and delicious, pub-style food.

Take your pick from events like open mic night, karaoke, live bands, and DJs while you enjoy reasonably-priced fare and drinks. The menu is loaded with appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees…but I say you should plan your visit to Café Sebago to fall on Taco Tuesday, because the Blackened Haddock Tacos are sinfully delicious, especially with a house margarita on the rocks—with a salt rim, of course.

Fisherman’s Catch Restaurant

This quintessential, family-owned restaurant is a seasonal favorite, especially for their monster, award-winning lobster rolls—although there are certainly plenty of other ocean-centric options on the menu, like fried seafood dinners and pints.

Be warned: Landlubber fare is in scarce supply—if you’re not a fan of seafood, you’ll be limited to a fried chicken sandwich, French fries, or a chicken finger dinner.

But if you DO partake of all things maritime, then you’re in for a treat. You absolutely have to try one of the lobster rolls here—and you’ll have options, such as The Classic (tossed with a bit of mayo), The Buttered (no mayo, served with drawn butter), The Lemon (tossed lightly in mayo and lemon pepper seasoning), or The Sweet (tossed lightly in mayo with sweet relish).

You can also choose between a single roll, twin rolls, or the XL version.

The Good Life Market

Perfect for a picnic lunch or dinner, The Good Life Market offers high-quality grab-and-go meals for the discerning diner.

The menu is a breath of fresh air, offering cold sandwiches, grilled panini, salads, and other prepared meals—all made with only the freshest ingredients.

You’ll find unique creations like The Good Life Club, a double-decker chock-full of thin-sliced ham and turkey, Swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and garlic mayo on toasted sourdough—or my favorite, The Hummusouli (roasted garlic hummus, tabouli salad, shredded carrots, lettuce, and tomato on a tortilla).

Kelley’s Sebago Diner

If you’re a fan of diner food—like me—then be sure to add Kelley’s to your must-do list. The folks at this homey, friendly spot not only serve their substantial breakfast menu (complete with Bloody Marys and mimosas) all day but also offer extensive lunch options.

Me? I like to kind of mash up the two meals and get the Frye’s Leap Burger: A beef patty piled on top of crispy hash browns with bacon, cheese, and an egg.

Bob’s Seafood

Offering fare for the seafood lover and landlubber alike, Bob’s Seafood is a restaurant, taproom, and market all in one.

Casual and family-friendly, Bob’s is the perfect spot for a delicious, affordable meal after a busy day on the lake.

Choose from mouth-watering options like lobster rolls, prime Angus burgers, fried seafood platters, and surf & turf…and then finish it all off with Bob’s Chocolate Decadence for dessert (warm chocolate cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream, caramel, and candied pecans).

Rose’s Italian Restaurant

Craving Italian food for lunch or dinner? Then head to Rose’s for spectacular dine-in or take-out fare.

Featuring brick-oven pizza (in-house only), appetizers, and entrees (served with salad), the menus at Rose’s are loaded with Italian deliciousness like Chicken or Veal Marsala, Shrimp & Scallop Primavera, Baked Meat Lasagna, Chicken or Haddock Parmesan, and Fettucine Alfredo.
